For students in classes 6-12 who attend other schools, ACT provides evening coaching classes. Running from 4-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday, these provide more personalized instruction in all subjects, including Hindi, English, Maths, and Science. In these sessions, the students receive help both with the homework assigned at their schools and with their preparations for state examinations. Our coaches are teachers from the Ashray School.
During the same hours, the ACT center also runs computer classes. At peak times, 30-35 students take advantage of these classes, approximately equal numbers of boys as girls. Over the course of six months, ACT computer students acquire facility with basic computer functions, use of the internet, and the Microsoft Office programs. Being technologically literate has never been more important than it is today. ACT provides this instruction to prepare these students for studying at university and entering the job market.
